Solo Melee / Hybrid
A thorough leveling guide for new and experienced players. This guide specifically focuses on melee and hybrid characters.
Solo Melee Leveling Guide
“Every warrior begins with nothing but a dull blade and a stubborn will. What matters is the path you carve from there.”
Leveling your character is the heart of your journey through The Realm. Each level brings new skills, new places to explore, and gear that makes you stronger and more capable. How smooth your leveling feels depends on your class, your gear, and your knowledge of the world of The Realm.
This guide is written for solo melee characters (or hybrids with a melee foundation) starting with no hand-me-down gear. If you do happen to receive help, you may progress through the zones faster—but the route stays the same.
🧙♂️General Tips for Your Journey
🛠️ Repair your gear regularly
- If something breaks, it’s gone forever.
🏠 Remember the Home spell
- Every character starts with it. If you get lost—or stuck—use it.
✨ Alignment matters
- With a ‘Good’ alignment, Friendly NPCs heal, cure poison, buff, and sometimes cast Regeneration on you.
📜 Save Scrolls of Identify
- You’ll find a lot of unidentified magical gear early on.
🔥 Soft Perm your weapons
- Ask a wizard in Channel 4 to apply soft-perm buffs. It dramatically increases your kill speed.
- Tip your wizard with Mana Bananas
💰 Loot everything
- But sell often. Your carry weight matters.
🌐 If you get bored—explore
- There are always alternate zones at every level band.
📖 Build Strategy (Early Game Blueprint)
At level 1 you’ll start with a few skills depending on your class and 3 build points. You gain 1 BP per level until 100 (then 10 every 25 levels). Upgrade skills at the Warrior’s Hall (WL 3U, 2R).
A recommended early structure:
Build Points | Skill Allocation |
7 | Main Weapon Skill → Level 3 |
7 | Healing → Level 3 |
7 | Optional for Hybrids - Preferred magic school → Level 3 |
17 | Main Weapon Skill → Level 5 |
17 | Healing → Level 5 |
After | Weapon 6 → Crit or Acrobatics → Healing 6 → Magic (for hybrids) |
