Returning for Whispers in the Woods? Here’s What to Know

“Trees don’t whisper… But something in the forest does.”

The Whispers in the Woods expansion brings new hunting grounds, additional dungeons, and the introduction of Level 7 skills. While the overall structure of the game remains familiar, returning players will find several new places to explore — and a few new dangers waiting for the unprepared.

Below is a quick overview of the most important additions introduced in this update.

🌲 New Hunting Areas

Two new above-ground regions have been added, both located within the newly opened forest territories.

Zender’s Woods

Zender’s Woods is generally the more approachable of the two areas, making it a good starting point for players exploring the expansion.

Enemy behavior here is relatively manageable, with most creatures showing limited aggression.

⚠️ Be cautious of the Brutes, however. These enemies wield two-handed swords with an unusual swing range of four squares, allowing them to strike from farther away than most melee opponents.

Devon Forest

Devon Forest offers a noticeably higher level of danger.

Enemies here tend to roam in highly aggressive groups, and it is common to be attacked by multiple opponents at once.

Despite this increased difficulty, the area still contains a healthy number of isolated enemies, meaning careful players can still navigate the forest safely — even when adventuring solo.

💀 A roaming boss might even be found patrolling the area!

🏰 New Dungeons

Four dungeons have been added as part of the expansion, each offering different challenges and rewards.

Wen Clothing Cellar

The Wen Clothing Cellar is the most approachable of the new dungeons.

This dungeon also features a quest:

Helping Hana with Her Rat Problem

The layout is simple, the enemies are straightforward, and it serves as a great introduction to the expansion’s dungeon content.

Warrior’s Abode

A classic dungeon making its return.

Warrior’s Abode is a fairly straightforward experience featuring groups of melee fighters and ranged throwers. The dungeon is mechanically simple, but the enemies can still pose a threat if pulled carelessly.

Den of Thieves

Formerly known as Thieves’ Hole, this returning dungeon now features stronger enemies while retaining its familiar structure.

Most enemies are melee fighters or throwers, but the bosses have significantly larger health pools than players may expect.

Fortunately, while they take longer to defeat, their mechanics remain manageable.

Imp City

Imp City currently represents the most difficult content in the game.

This dungeon is designed with group play in mind, attempting it solo is strongly discouraged.

Players should expect:

  • Multiple bosses
  • Extremely high health pools
  • Very strong spell resistance

Most bosses possess around 85% resistance to Sorcery and Mysticism, meaning traditional spell-heavy strategies are far less effective.

⚠️ Imp City is high risk, high reward, but only well-prepared groups should attempt it.

💎 New Loot & Equipment

All new zones and dungeons introduced in the expansion feature an entirely new tier of equipment designed for higher-level adventurers.

Players exploring these areas can find level 225–300 loot, including a wide variety of new items such as:

  • New weapons
  • New armor pieces
  • Unique baldrics
  • New dyes
  • Returning fan favorite cosmetic drops

⚠️ Dungeons have higher drop rates than the open world areas

⚠️ Bosses and chests have higher drop rates than “trash mobs” in dungeons

📘 Level 7 Skills

The expansion introduces Level 7 skills, marking the next step in character progression.

Key details:

  • Cost: 16 Build Points
  • Effect: Raises your Mastery Point cap by 25

These new skill levels allow characters to push their specialization even further.

⚠️ However, some related systems are not yet expanded.

  • No Level 7 spells have been added
  • No Level 7 crafting tiers exist
    • Crafting remains unchanged from the previous update
  • These may be added in future updates.

📖 Final Thoughts

Whispers in the Woods expands the world with new hunting grounds, several returning dungeons, and the first step into Level 7 character progression.

Whether you're exploring the forests of Zender and Devon or assembling a group to tackle the dangers of Imp City, there’s plenty of new content waiting for adventurers willing to venture into the woods.

Good luck out there — and keep an ear open.

“The woods are no longer quiet.”
