Help Hana with her rat problem!

Introduction

“No infestation is ever ‘just rats’ in The Realm… especially when someone mentions the biggest rat they’ve ever seen.”

Hana’s rat problem may sound simple at first, but the cellar beneath Wen Clothing hides more danger than most people expect. Several exterminators have already tried their luck — and not all of them made it back out.

This quest sends players into a small dungeon filled entirely with rats, culminating in a hunt for the particularly infamous Fatty. Finding him is not guaranteed, and even when you do, obtaining the proof Hana requires may take multiple attempts.

Fortunately, those persistent enough to finish the job can be rewarded with valuable magical loot.

Walkthrough

Starting the Quest

Speak with Hana inside Wen Clothing to begin.

Ask “Can I do anything for you?”

She’ll explain the situation: "Yes, indeed! You can help me a great deal. I have the most horrible rat infestation that anyone has ever seen. I've lost three exterminators already to those foul rats. They died in my cellar! One exterminator barely escaped with his life. He ran out of there screaming something about 'the biggest rat I've ever seen...'

I'm so terrified to go down there. You've just got to help me rid myself of these rats! I'll give you a valuable reward if you can just rid me of these rats! Will you do that for me?”

Accepting her request begins the quest.

Enter the Wen Clothing Cellar

Inside the shop you’ll find a door leading down into the Wen Clothing Cellar dungeon. The layout is fairly straightforward, and populated entirely by rats.

Clear the Dungeon

Fight your way through the cellar until reaching the final room. The enemies themselves are not particularly complicated, but they appear in groups and can overwhelm careless players.

Defeat the Final Boss

The final boss can be one of two rats:

⚠️Fatty only appears occasionally, roughly 10% of the time. If Louis Ratton spawns instead, the dungeon will need to be reset and completed again.

Obtain Fatty's Leg

After defeating Fatty, there is roughly a 50% chance he will drop Fatty’s Leg, the item Hana requires as proof that the infestation has been handled.

⚠️If the leg does not drop, you will need to run the dungeon again.

Resetting the Dungeon

To quickly repeat attempts:

  1. Pull the lever at the end of the dungeon to return to the entrance.
  2. Exit the cellar.
  3. Re-enter to reset the dungeon.

Return to Hana

Once you obtain Fatty’s Leg, return to Hana in Wen Clothing and hand it to her to complete the quest.

Final Thoughts

Hana's rat problem is a surprisingly persistent one, and adventurers looking to complete the task will need both patience and a bit of luck. Fortunately, the possibility of rare magical rewards — including coveted spellbooks — makes the hunt for Fatty well worth the effort.

Just be prepared to run the cellar a few times… those rats breed quickly.

Rewards

Hana will reward your efforts with a random magical item.

While the full reward pool is still being documented, players have reported receiving:

  • Magical weapons
  • Magical Armor
  • Dyes

Drop-only skill books, including the highly sought-after Spellbook of Multiblade II.

Tips & Notes

Fatty's spawn rate appears to be relatively low (~10%), so expect multiple runs before encountering him.

  • Even after defeating Fatty, the leg is not guaranteed to drop.
  • The dungeon can be reset quickly using the lever at the end.
  • The dungeon is able to be done solo by well geared characters but bringing a group speeds up runs significantly.
  • This quest is repeatable once per week
